Dr Mark Nguyen
BDSc Honours (Melbourne), PGDip Digital Orthodontics (UK)
North Balwyn
Dr Mark graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2011, as a general dentist and started his career in public and community dentistry before transitioning to private practice.
Having developed a special interest in facial growth and orthodontics, Dr Mark went on to complete a comprehensive 2 year course in fixed orthodontics and an 18 month diploma in digital clear aligner orthodontics. But after years of seeing many young kids go untreated by orthodontists and performing countless tooth extractions just to “make space” he started to become disillusioned to the teachings of “traditional” orthodontics and constantly wondered if there was a better way.
That is, until he discovered the world of oral myology. After completing a residency in orofacial myofunctional dentistry and advanced training in the use of the Myofocus Protocols, he has never looked back.
Dr Mark strives to treat all his patients as holistically as possible and has a passion to help every one he sees achieve their peak optimum functional oral health.
He particularly enjoys working with kids, helping them address orofacial dysfunctions as early as possible leading to long-term benefits for their overall health and well-being for the rest of their lives.
With his gentle and caring approach, Dr Mark carefully manages the individual needs of his patients, both young and old and makes sure that each step in their dental journey is a positive one!
